Syrah

Sourced from the north-facing parcel of the Bull Swamp vineyard in Warragul. Planted in 1981 on Baw Baw Shire's red volcanic soils, the parcel is own-rooted and dry-grown.

The 2024 growing season was warmer and sunnier than average, producing thicker skins and naturally greater concentration. Wild fermented in stainless steel, the wine was gently extracted through light pump-overs and hand punch-downs before maturing in seasoned French oak barriques and hogsheads for eleven months, followed by a further four months in tank prior to bottling.

Medium in weight with old vine density and fine tannins. Ferrous earth, violet and wild blackberry are framed by savoury herbs and a subtle mineral edge.
